Our professional instructor team can travel anywhere to accommodate your training needs or you can attend one of our many locations. We offer CPR AED, First Aid, BLS and Instructor courses through the American Heart Association, American Red Cross and HSI.

BLS for Healthcare Providers Instructor-Led Training

The BLS (Basic Life Support) initial or renewal CPR AED instructor-led course teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both prehospital and in-facility environments, with a focus on High-Quality CPR and team dynamics. You will receive a 2-year BLS Provider certification through the American Heart Association. All courses issue certification cards the same day as the class. This course is for Healthcare Providers and those entering the Healthcare field. 

The Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Online Course teaches CPR skills for helping victims of all ages, including providing ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device with oxygen, and use of an automated external defibrillator (AED); and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction. Intended for licensed and non-licensed healthcare professionals.  The course completion card for the online course is identical to the card for the classroom course.

  1.  Manikin practice and skills testing (30 minutes)  This session normally begins 30-minutes prior to one of our classroom-based courses--May be scheduled now or you may call to schedule after completing the course.

  • YOU MUST HAVE ALREADY COMPLETED THE ONLINE BLS COURSE and need just the skills session
  • This is an American Heart Association course
  • You will receive your CPR card via email using the AHA eCard system the same day as your course

Heartsaver First Aid- This course is designed for Teachers, Coaches, Babysitters, Construction workers, and the general public. This classroom course includes essential information and training in the first-aid skills recommended by OSHA, all in a format that can be delivered in a single day. The course is modular to meet the needs of a specific workplace or group of employees. The core module comprises general principles, medical emergencies and injury emergencies.

 

Heartsaver CPR/First Aid- This course is designed for Teachers, Coaches, Babysitters, Construction workers, and the general public. This classroom course includes essential information and training in the first-aid skills recommended by OSHA as well as CPR and AED certification training - all in a format that can be delivered in a single day. CPR 4 Your Heart, LLC

Thank you for your interest in the American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor Course and/or Heartsaver (HS) Instructor Course with CPR 4 Your Heart, LLC an AHA Training Center. We are committed to upholding the AHA standards of excellence in community and professional education.

Below are all the steps involved in becoming an American Heart Association BLS/HS Instructor.  Please read this in its entirety.  Becoming an AHA Instructor is not meant to be a quick and easy process, there are several steps involved and all are set in place to gauge your commitment level and ability to follow instruction.  Teaching lifesaving skills to the public is a large responsibility that is taken very seriously by the American Heart Association, myself and my fellow Instructors.

Prerequisites
  • Be 18 years of age or older- bring valid drivers license/ID to class 
  • Have a current AHA BLS Provider card (only AHA BLS cert accepted)-email to us before class
  • Demonstrate mastery in  BLS and HS skills---** Required Skills Mastery** (must be correctly demonstrated during Day 1, may need to set up skills practice/mastery session, if not shown on Day 1). 1 and 2-rescuer Adult BLS, Use of Bag-valve mask, Use of Pocket mask, Use of AED, 1 and 2-rescuer Infant BLS, Lay rescuer Adult, Child and Infant CPR/AED (Heartsaver CPR), Removing Gloves (Heartsaver First Aid), Finding the Problem (Heartsaver First Aid), Using an Epinephrine Pen (Heartsaver First Aid),Stopping Bleeding and Bandaging (Heartsaver First Aid) 
  • Phone call with CPR 4 Your Heart Training Center Administrator, Ruth Alvarez.

 

The American Heart Association BLS/HS Instructor 2 Day Course will allow the participant to teach all American Heart Association BLS level certification classes as well as the Heartsaver CPR/AED, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, Pediatric First Aid CPR AED, and Friends & Family CPR. (must have required AHA materials for each course)

In addition to the steps below, all participants must possess a valid BLS Provider (or Heartsaver First Aid CPR/AED-if only teaching HS) certification card. Once all steps are successfully completed, the participant will become an American Heart Association Instructor and able to conduct classes on their own.

Step 1:

Email Ruth@cpr4yourheart.com to set up your call (send dates and times that are best to call you) to speak with us regarding your interest in becoming an instructor.  During this call, we can learn more about your goals, discuss the instructor course skills mastery requirements, and ensure you completed/can complete your pre-requisites.

Step 2:

  • We will email you the Instructor Candidate Application, complete the first two portions and sign the Instructor Commitment section.
  • Send the completed application to tc@cpr4yourheart.com. If you already have a TC that you want to affiliate with please have them sign this section, you can also align with our TC. Our TC alignment fee paid after Day 2 if not included in course bundle is $100.00.
  • Have your most recent AHA BLS Instructor fill out the Instructor Potential section, if available, (this part can be done by us if your previous instructor is not available). 
  • Send resume and/or curriculum vitae along with completed instructor candidate application.

$350.00 ---INSTRUCTORS THAT DID NOT RENEW WITHIN THE 2 YEAR RENEWAL---instructor card has expired (no TC alignment fee due, just yearly dues)--Attend in class Day 1 and set up Day 2 with TCF.

$525.00-- includes Course Instruction Day 1, the online Essentials course and Teachback & Administrative Practice Day 2 (this is scheduled after Day 1 is completed).  You purchase on your own-----AHA Instructor videos and manuals, teaching equipment (manikins, bag masks, pocket masks, one way valves, training AEDs and First Aid equipment if teaching HS courses). AHA materials (videos, instructor manual and provider/student manuals) are needed for Day 1.  Course equipment required before teaching first class. After Day 2, TC alignment fee of $100 due.

$950.00-- includes all above plus BLS Instructor Manual, BLS Provider Manual and BLS course videos. After Day 2, TC alignment fee of $100 due.

$1275.00-- includes all above plus Heartsaver Instructor Manual, Heartsaver Student Manuals, Heartsaver course videos (can pick from regular Heartsaver or Pediatric Heartsaver) and TC alignment fee.

$2175.00-- includes all in $950 bundle, plus TC aignment fee and Prestan Take-Two Kit (2 adults 2 infants with feedback, 2 AEDS, 2 Adult and 2 infant Bag Masks, 4 adult and infant face masks and 50 one-way valve) **with this bundle you are ready to teach immediately after Day 1 provided all portions of Day 1 were completed successfully. 

$3125.00---includes all in $2175.00 bundle plus Heartsaver Instructor Manual, Heartsaver Student Manuals, Heartsaver course videos (can pick from regular Heartsaver or Pediatric Heartsaver).

             

First Aid required skills testing materials (Epipen trainers and First Aid Training Kits---include gauze pads, rolled gauze and pair of vinyl gloves)--- can be purchased as Add-ons.

 

Step 3:

Instructor Course- Day 1, BRING LAPTOP to use in class        **We will take a 1-hour lunch break**

This experience helps prepare you to succeed as an American Heart Association CPR instructor. The class will be held at 3409 W. Wendover Ave. Unit C., Greensboro, NC  Directions to this location will be included in your pre-course materials.   This intensive course familiarizes instructor candidates with:

  • 2020 AHA CPR & ECC Science Updates

Instructors will use our online roster management program, Enrollware, to input all documents required for each class they teach. Cards can only be ordered through the AHA Training Center the Instructor is affiliated/aligned with. There are very specific policies on ordering cards, this will be reviewed during the instructor course.

Upon the successful completion of the prerequisites, the Instructor Course and class monitoring, you will receive your AHA BLS or Heartsaver Instructor card. Yearly dues, biennial instructor renewal, and AHA material update (every 5years)--- are required to maintain instructor status.

 

This skills session is Part 2 of the American Heart Association’s Heart-code blended learning course.

Part 1 must be purchased and completed prior to attending this session.  Visit https://elearning.heart.org/ .  (Blended and E-Learning)

 HeartCode® ACLS is a self-directed, comprehensive eLearning program that uses eSimulation technology to allow students to assess and treat patients in virtual healthcare settings. To enter the course, students must complete a precourse self-assessment. Students will then be presented with a team dynamics lesson and 10 In-hospital patient cases, including a BLS case and 2 megacode cases. You must also bring your current AHA BLS Provider Card.

Upon successful completion of all the patient cases, students must pass the written exam with a score of 84%. Students then are able to attend the hands-on session required for full course completion.  If you have any questions please call 336-687-2657.

The 2021 Adult First Aid/CPR/AED course equips students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid breathing and cardiac emergencies involving adults. It is designed for students who need a certification that satisfies OSHA workplace or other regulatory requirements. Upon successful completion a valid 2 year digital certificate for Adult First Aid/CPR/AED is issued.

 

 

The 2021 Adult First Aid/CPR/AED blended learning course equips students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid breathing and cardiac emergencies involving adults. It is designed for students who need a certification that satisfies OSHA workplace or other regulatory requirements. This class is taught in a blended learning format and the online portion (accessed via mobile desktop or tablet) must be completed prior to attending the Instructor-led skills session. Upon successful completion a valid 2 year digital certificate for Adult First Aid/CPR/AED is issued.

This course will train instructor candidates to teach basic-level American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED courses. In order to participate in this course, you must possess a current basic-level American Red Cross Adult CPR/AED (or higher level) certification or equivalent and be at least 16 years of age on the last day of the instructor course. Upon registration, it is important that you review and follow the directions on the e-mail attachment sent with your registration confirmation. This is a blendedlearning course consisting of online content, a precourse skills session and classroom segments. Online material must be completed prior to attending the classroom activities.
